Current Endeavours

The NSNA has received a grant from the Silicon Valley Community Association for community outreach. The website will be part of a campaign to engage all members of our communty.

We are currently tracking local infrastructure improvements which are in various stages of completion. A long-term project of ours is advocating for relief from North Shoreview’s recent inclusion in the 100-year flood plain, which has resulted in increased insurance costs to homeowners.

The association is an active participant in the San Mateo United Homeowner's Association to work together with other neighborhoods. We are also active on the City's FEMA Steering Committee, working on solutions to the flood insurance problem. We have worked with the city to re-route public transit and provide shuttles while the pedestrian overpass is reconstructed and help with problems coming out of the Auxillary Lane Project on US101.

The NSNA Board supports our neighborhood Boys and Girls Club, and individual board members also support local schools and community organizations. Through our contact with local agencies, we are able to inform neighborhood residents of community support services which they might not otherwise be aware of.

Your Board of Directors invites you to get involved by volunteering to serve on the Board or committees, our Board meets once each month. If you are interested in zoning/development issues, neighborhood security, helping with neighborhood communication, or in our local schools and recreational areas, we can use your help. We also welcome all suggestions and submissions to this, your community website.

Each 2nd Thursday of every odd numbered month, NSNA holds a general meeting to get resident input and provide speakers on many relevant topics such as the flood zone, neighborhood safety, code enforcement and the sound wall. Among our regular attendees are City Council Members, police and fire officials, City department heads and Country Supervisors.
